Move-out cleaning: decide what is included inside appliances and cabinets
For a move-out clean, specify appliance and cabinet interiors before booking. An empty home can still contain a full refrigerator, packed drawers or an oven needing separate work. Compare the cleaning scope with your move-out instructions, then confirm which tasks the company has agreed to perform.

Start with the actual handover list
Collect the landlord's or buyer's written requirements where available. Use them to build your cleaning request, but don't assume a cleaning company guarantees acceptance or the return of a deposit.
Tell the company when movers finish and when keys must be returned. Cleaning inside cupboards works differently when belongings are still being packed around the team.
Specify each interior
| Item | What to settle |
|---|---|
| Oven | Interior surfaces included and any method restrictions |
| Refrigerator | Food removal, shelves, drawers and freezer scope |
| Cabinets | Whether all interiors are empty and accessible |
| Drawers | Removal, wiping and reinstallation if agreed |
| Appliances | Whether moving or disconnecting them is excluded |
Give an honest condition description or photos through the company's agreed process. Heavy buildup, damage or pest contamination may need a different price or service.
Assign the preparation
Decide who removes food, disposes of contents and protects belongings. Don't expect the team to determine which items a tenant or owner wants kept. Arrange food storage before the refrigerator work begins.
Check appliance and surface-care instructions. Cleaning should not require disconnecting gas, water or electrical connections as an assumed household task. If that work is necessary, arrange the appropriate professional separately.
Inspect before the keys change hands
Review the agreed areas while the space is still accessible. Photograph completed work where appropriate and identify any remaining concern promptly. A permanent mark, worn coating or damaged shelf isn't necessarily removable dirt.
Ask how the company handles a missed task and whether a return visit is possible before handover. Confirm the time window and access arrangements in the booking terms rather than assuming an open-ended guarantee.
Keep the cleaning invoice and handover records separate. The cleaning service documents its work; the tenancy or sale agreement determines other obligations.
Use the move-out checklist and deep-clean versus move-out comparison. To request a Metro Detroit quote, list the interiors, condition and key-return date so the company can confirm the scope and availability.
